His power hitting makes him a natural for the shortest version of the game, and he has constantly rescued Essex from dire situations over the years.His finest moment came in the 2008 Twenty20 Cup when he smashed 158 off just 52 balls, with 16 huge sixes, a record in a T20 innings. He followed that up by consistently chipping in with runs and wickets in the Friends Provident Trophy, which his team eventually won. His consistency with the bat and ball was rewarded when he was signed up by the Mumbai Indians to play for them in South Africa in the second edition of the IPL tournament.
