Short Profile:
Jean-Paul Duminy is known for his graceful batting style, silky cover-drives and strong square cuts. Duminy etched his name on one of cricket’s most memorable summers with his solid performances in Australia where his contributions helped South Africa beat the hosts in the test as well as the ODI series in 2008.His first class debut in 2001 heralded the shape of things to come as he made his way into the very strong domestic side of the Western Province in South Africa. His ODI debut followed in 2004. On his test debut, he played his part in a record run chase with an unbeaten fifty, and followed that with a rearguard 166 in the second test, as South Africa handed Australia their first home series loss in more than decade. His ability to perform under immense pressure and his subsequent knocks in the T20 series and ODI series have made him a living sensation.
